Departing from just outside Lahaina on Maui's west side, Maui Off-Road Adventures gives you the keys to a powerful 4-seat Honda Talon 1000X-4 UTV and leads you deep into over 1,400 acres of private off-road terrain in the West Maui Mountains. This is not a theme park ride or a groomed trail — it's a raw, hands-on driving experience through the real landscape of West Maui, with all the mud, dust, and adrenaline that comes with it. Your guide sets the pace through switchback trails that climb up to 2,000 feet in elevation, where on clear days you can see the neighbouring islands of Lānaʻi and Molokaʻi floating on the horizon. Along the way, the terrain shifts constantly — from open hillside tracks to dense bamboo forest corridors, narrow jungle trails, and riverbed crossings that will test your grip and earn your laughter. The vehicles are 4-wheel drive with roll cages, harnesses, and enough power to handle anything the trail throws at you. All riders over 18 can take a turn behind the wheel, with driver switches built into the route at scenic stops. Helmets and goggles are provided; gloves, dust masks, and rain ponchos are available on request. This tour runs rain or shine — and honestly, a little mud makes it better. - ✓Drivers must be 25 or older to carry passengers under 18 in the vehicle
- ✓Closed-toe shoes are required for all riders — sandals, flip flops, and open-toe footwear are not permitted
- ✓Seatbelts must be worn at all times while the vehicle is in motion
- ✓Do not drive off the established trails — access to this land is a privilege and violations will end the tour immediately
- ✓Guides may suspend any tour for a guest not following safety protocols
- ✓No alcohol, drugs, or smoking permitted on tour — guides will refuse entry to anyone suspected of impairment
- ✓Not suitable for pregnant guests, or those with recent surgeries or serious neck, back, or knee conditions
- ✓Children must be at least 7 years old — no booster seats permitted
- ✓Maximum vehicle weight capacity is 800 lbs
